A Mother’s Day Prayer

On behalf of the mothers who you have entrusted with the care of your most cherished young ones, we come to your throne. We thank you for each mother’s distinct blend of abilities and blessings. We give humble thanks for the self-sacrifice made by each mother for her children. For the late nights spent rocking a colicky infant. Washing, wiping, scrubbing, mixing, backing, stirring, hugging, patting, and disciplining children with disabilities are some of the most difficult chores that stay-at-home moms can do.

Thank you for the gift of time mothers devote to their children, whether they are stay-at-home moms, working moms, or a mix of the two. Thank you for the flexibility of parents and their tenacity, perseverance, and devotion.

We hope you give each mother the strength she needs. Facilitate her in seeing every everyday activity as having a cosmic significance. Help her comprehend that the most significant, world-altering events may be taking place without her knowledge in her house. Assist her in forgiving those who question or denigrate her value.

We particularly beseech God for single parents, who rely entirely on you to raise their children. We thank you that, while your big arms enfold children who may never know their earthly father, you surround them with loving care. We also pray for mothers who have never had the pleasure of bringing life into the world, but whose devotion reaches out to the many impoverished and needy individuals who pass through their lives.

We ask you to be the sustaining food for weary moms. We request that you be a source of both spiritual and physical strength for them. We pray that the same grace that was exhibited by Christ from his father to his son might also be shown by mothers to their children. We hope that each mother rejects perfectionism in favor of gospel-based virtue. We wish for repentance and forgiveness to become natural rhythms in every home.

The God of the universe, the Lord, give each mother reverential awe of you, the Creator and sustainer of life. Help each parent to rest in the knowledge that they are but caretakers of your children, and that no other than your Spirit can bring about change into their hearts. May each mother find peace in you. Most importantly on this day when we celebrate mothers, may we love and appreciate the unique ladies who brought us into existence, nurtured us, and interceded for our well-being. Thank you for creating us as mothers in your image and knitting us together as one in our mother’s wombs. Amen!

A Prayer of Blessing for All Mothers

Lord, May your holy angels surround and protect each mother and grandmother as they go about their days. Confirm in her heart and spirit the labor of her hands and the love she has freely given to those children under Your protection. Validate her worth on a daily basis so that she has no reason to question whether or not she is loved, valued, or cherished by God.

Create in her a strong feeling of your protection and trust so that worry and dread will dissipate as she entrusts her loved ones into Your care. Let her know that every prayer she has said for her children/grandchildren, as well as each encouraging statement she has spoken on their behalf, have been transformed into delectable sweetmeats before Your throne.

Whisper softly into her spirit the beautiful things she desires to hear from You—that nothing can ever pull her away from Your love. Help her to nestle down daily into the promises of Your Word, firmly believing in what You say is true. Let her know that you appreciate faithfulness, but that real success isn’t determined by accomplishments or accolades. Let her know that she and those she loves truly belong to you. Give her a servant’s heart so that she may share this joy with others.

Let her pleasure be contagious; let her dedication be pure; and, as she deserves all the blessings, allow her life to overflow with them on special days and every day of hers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer for Those Hurting on Mothers Day

Oh, God! Sometimes life feels too difficult. We’re hurting. Fighting against fear and worry on every front. Thank you for being there in the middle of it all, because you haven’t left us to fend for ourselves. Forgive us for doubting your existence. Forgive us for thinking that you’ve forgotten about us. Allow us to believe we know the best way again.

You are completely trustworthy. You are All-Powerful. You have the ability to do anything you put your mind to. You may be Lord over every circumstance, no matter how tough it appears. You are the healer, and you will never squander today’s sorrows. In some way, you will make use of all things for good. Nothing is beyond your reach. With you, everything is possible. Nothing is too difficult for you.

We pray for those who are grieving now. We request that you provide comfort to those who are sad. We ask for your presence to surround our minds and thoughts, as you remind us, that the enemy can never steal us from your hands. He has no control over our destiny in life or death. Whether in life or in death, we may be kept secure in your presence forever.

We commend you for being wiser than we are, for having greater ideas than we do, and for having superior logic. We put it all in your hands; every burden, every worry is yours to bear. It’s the most secure location to be when you believe it is there. Lord, we adore you and need your new strength. In Jesus’ magnificent name, amen

Mother’s Day Prayer to Be a Light

Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to be a mother. I pray that you will assist me in being a torchbearer of Christ’s light to my children as well as the kids I come into contact with throughout the day. You are the Light of the World, and I ask that today I may be a bright reflection of Your radiance. Amen In Jesus’ Name.

A Powerful Mother’s Day Prayer for Your Purpose as a Mother

Father, We come to You with grateful hearts today. Motherhood is a wonderful gift, and we thank You for the opportunity and honor of being called “Mom.” As many of the great biblical mothers flash before our eyes, we are reminded of the responsibility we have been entrusted with. The efforts made out on behalf of love for You and their children provide us a path full of lessons and inspiration to walk down. Assist us in remembering to seek out those verses in Scripture when we want a feeling of togetherness or when we feel lonely during our motherhood challenges.

Let us never forget who we are in Christ during the process of parenthood. Keep our feet on the path of righteousness and our minds focused on knowledge. Bless us with godly friends and God-centered friendships that will enrich our lives. Endue [our] marriages with God’s favor and protection as they endure the trials of parenting. Mold us, dear Lord, into the parents you already know we are in Your Name, Jesus’ name Amen.

A Mother’s Day Prayer for A Stressed Out Mom

May you have clarity of mind and a morsel of sanity today. May you know that His kindness is enough. It’s enough for every season, every tantrum, every question, and any failure. He loves you simply because. Not because of what you did or didn’t do or how you feel about God right now or if you complained or spent time reading your Bible, made the worst mistake ever, or celebrated a victory, He loves you just as much as he does least of them.

With this knowledge, you may be confident in loving your children the same way God asks you to. The way your kids deserve it and the way you want to. You can feel empowered to take on every problem, circumstance, and day with confidence and pleasure, even if you have to “start over” 10 times by 9 a.m.

May your heart be full of anticipation each morning as you anticipate all that the day may bring. Your children are a treasure, and this day is a present—may you embrace it fully. May you have unendurable happiness at the end of the day.

Momma, may you recognize that though these days are so long, the years are short. They are a breath. And as you breathe out your life in the night, may your cup overflow with gratitude. May your desires be sweet and peaceful while you sleep. Sleep well, knowing that the work you’re doing is good and that your Father has a smile on his face.

A Mother’s Day Prayer for Single Moms on Mother’s Day

We thank You, Father God, for each and every mother you have blessed with the responsibility of motherhood. We thank You that every single parent is a godly guardian of their children and that they educate them in the ways of the Lord. Father, we pray and ask that You continue to give them the strength to be a single parent in a kind and generous way. That every single mother has a personal relationship with You, adores You in her heart, and expresses it truthfully.

We praise You, God. Please be in our memories and help each of Your precious daughters to understand that though they are a parent alone, you have not abandoned them nor left them. We thank You for seeing each of them and loving them, Lord if they are weary. Send them a godly sister in Christ to support their arms in the fight, just as Aaron did for Moses if they are weary. Lord, thank you for your care about everything that concerns them. Place a hedge of protection around every single mother and her children, Father. We thank you that You alone are their Provider. Where there is a lack, God willing it may be Your will to bring wealth in any form. In the name of Amen, we pray and ask for these things.

A Mother’s Day Prayer for Those Still Waiting to be a Mom

Lord, I ask for the benefit of my good friend who is still hoping to have a baby. May You touch her with special blessing and power today? Give her faith to trust in Your hearing; give her peace of mind that you have plans to bless and provide a hopeful future.

Would you express your great care for my friend today? Pour Your love into her heart and heal the wounds she carries within. Remind her that You adore her and are keeping a watch over her. You have vowed to be steadfast in your love and faithfulness towards her.

I pray that You will show grace and give her desire for a kid in response. Help her recognize it before God and place it at His feet, knowing that He will grant it in His own time and method. Allow her to live in surrender to Your plans and objectives for her life, Lord. God have mercy on us.

Renew her delight today by drawing her near to You. Open her eyes to everyday blessings. Give him a steadfast heart that he may constantly look to You and your love. Show her that the greatest pleasure comes from being in Your presence and bestow on her the grace she requires right now, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Mothers Day Scripture – Encouraging Bible Verses for Mom!

“A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ship, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings, she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand, she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” ~ Psalm 31:10-30

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.” ~ Proverbs 1:8-9

“Honor your father and mother – which is the first commandment with a promise” ~ Ephesians 6:1-3
